I have been using UCO candle lanterns for almost 40 years. I could not always find beeswax candles over the years.
1- Paraffin and stearic acid gives me strong asthma if they smoke or when I snuff them. Oil lamp gives me extreme asthma even while clean-burning - I cannot at all.
These _pure_ beeswax candles do not give me ANY asthma.
2- beeswax high melting point does not drip and jam in the UCO lantern feed tube. Paraffin is pure hell.
3- they smell amazing
4-they burn brighter, whiter and longer than paraffin or stearic acid candles.
I first tested this company's product in the 1- and 3-candles UCO lanterns. (bought 3-candles pack).
No dripping.
To my surprise, purchasing 4 packs of 12 candles gave me free shipping, making them extremely competitive on the market (price similar to bogus (adulterated) beeswax candles from China on Amazon.ca)
A UCO lantern w. pure beeswax is a must for any camping afficionados, or for emergency lighting.
I always keep a 1-candle UCO lantern in my car - it's a godsend if you get stuck on the road in the winter.
It can warm cool evenings in a small ten and keep humidity away.
The 3-candles lantern can slowly warm a metal cup of water (20 minutes, no boiling) and keep your tent very cozy.
These lanterns work outside in high winds with no problems. Parrafin/stearic acid candles drip and jam/mess up everything. Pure beeswax does not drip, is ideal to carry the lantern around outside in any weather.
